Our story
A lifetime of caring for South Arkansas.
Dr. Stephen Shorts opened his practice in Pine Bluff in 1983 and never left. Over four decades he's treated the ears, noses, and throats of children who grew up and brought back children of their own. That continuity — knowing a family's history, being here year after year — is what makes this clinic different.
Today, with audiologist Dr. Lindsey Anderson, the clinic brings complete hearing care under the same roof: diagnosis, treatment, and the follow-through that keeps you hearing your best.

Stephen D. Shorts, MD
Otolaryngology (ENT) · 40+ yearsDr. Shorts has practiced otolaryngology in Pine Bluff since 1983 and is on the medical staff at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He cares for the full range of ear, nose, and throat concerns for patients of every age.
Lindsey Anderson, Au.D., F-AAA
Doctor of Audiology · 17 yearsA South Arkansas native, Dr. Anderson is a doctor of audiology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She brings 17 years of experience in diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing aids, and tinnitus care — and a deep commitment to the community that raised her.

Karen Culpepper
Patient Care CoordinatorKaren has been a valued part of our office for 17 years and is known for the kindness, patience, and personal attention she gives to every patient. She truly goes above and beyond to help others and wants every patient to feel welcomed, cared for, and happy with their experience in our office.
Throughout her years with the practice, Karen has taken on many responsibilities, including billing, patient care coordination, and assisting our doctors with whatever is needed. Her years of experience and willingness to help wherever she can make her an important part of both our team and the care we provide our patients.
For Karen, one of the most rewarding parts of her job is the relationships she has built with patients over the years. Making sure they feel heard, comfortable, and taken care of is always a priority.
Outside of the office, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Family is an important part of her life, and whether she is at home with them or here helping our patients, caring for others is simply part of who she is.
Kyla Ames
Patient Care CoordinatorKyla has been blessed to be a part of this office for nearly 10 years and can truly say it has been her favorite place to work. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to serve in several different roles, including working at the front desk, serving as a medical assistant to Dr. Shorts, coordinating patient care, and assisting Dr. Anderson. Each role has allowed her to connect with patients in a different way, and building those relationships is one of the most rewarding parts of her work.
Outside of the office, family is at the heart of Kyla’s life. She has two children, ages 22 and 15, and is very close with her mom and the rest of her family. Some of her favorite moments are spent with the people she loves, whether enjoying time together at home or making memories through everyday activities.
In her free time, Kyla enjoys working in her yard, spending time with her family, and growing in her faith. She loves learning more about Jesus and is especially grateful for the time she gets to spend with her mom.
After nearly a decade with the practice, Kyla is incredibly grateful to be part of a place that has become much more than just a job. She truly enjoys coming to work, caring for patients, and being part of a team and community that mean so much to her.
Danelle Riederer
Medical AssistantWe are excited for you to get to know Danelle, one of the caring Medical Assistants at South AR ENT! Danelle brings a unique background to healthcare, having earned her master’s degree in education (M.Ed.) and spending 11 years as a teacher. During those years, she taught five different grade levels and discovered just how much she loves connecting with people, listening to their stories, and helping them along the way.
Danelle is also a proud mom of six, so she knows firsthand how important family is! She homeschools with her husband and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. Her years as an educator have helped shape her ability to communicate, listen, and connect with people from all walks of life.
One of Danelle’s favorite things is simply talking with people and meeting someone new. She loves making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for. Helping others has always been a big part of who she is, and she is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving others through her work in healthcare.
When Danelle isn’t at work, you’ll most likely find her spending time cheering on her children with her husband or serving at her church. Her faith and family are at the heart of everything she does. Danelle is grateful for the opportunity to care for patients at South AR ENT and looks forward to getting to know the patients and families she serves.
